This year's pack meetings are on the 2nd Wednesday of every month at 6:30pm at Joaquin Miller Community Center. Our monthly pack hike (read: outdoor walk 😉) is the Saturday after the pack meeting at 10am, location to be confirmed at pack meeting. In addition to those monthly events we typically have a special event each month. See those below highlighted in green.Â
Den meetings will happen at least once per month at a time coordinated by your den leader. Den meetings are not reflected in the schedule below, since they are not managed at the pack level.Â

APRIL
4/10 - Pack Meeting - Camping and Hiking Skills - Theme THRIFTY
4/13 - Monthly pack hike - 10am, Stream and Bridle Trails - Meet at Canyon Meadow Staging
4/19-4/21 - Spring Campout! - Joseph D. Grant Park - Canada de Pala Group Site - More details to come!
4/27-4/28 - Tiger Cub Safari - Fun camping and activity weekend open to all Tiger Scouts (1st graders) - Register here - Spots still available! $$
MAY
Date TBD - Targeting 5/4, 9am-3pm - Pack "Cubmobile" go kart event - This is a one day event where Scouts construct, decorate, and then race "cubmobile" go karts that they can ride on.Â
5/3-5/5 or 5/17-5/19 - Mom and Cub Campout - Open to all Scouts and their female adult - Register here - (sold out) $$
5/8 - Pack Meeting - Crossing Over - Theme COURTEOUS
5/11 - Monthly pack hike - 10am, Location TBD
SUMMER
Family Vacation Camp - Royaneh or Wente campgrounds - Multiple dates available. Enjoy a summer camping trip without having to plan for it yourself! $$
No pack meeting in June or July - Summer activities in June, July, and August - Stay tuned!Â
7/12-/14 OR 7/19-7/21 - Wolf and Bear Adventure Camp - Summer camp for 23-24 1st and 2nd graders - Register here $$

9/1 (Date TBC) - Welcome Picnic and New Parent Info Session - Joaquin Miller Park, Baywood Picnic Area, 11-1pm - All Scouts that bring 1 friend to this get a "Recruiter" patch!

8/27 - Welcome Picnic and New Parent Info Session! - Joaquin Miller Park, Baywood Picnic Area, Sunday 8/27, 11-1pm
SEPTEMBER
9/1-9/4 - Family Vacation Camp - Labor Day - Fun weekend camping trip with swimming, shooting sports and much more.Â
9/13 - First Pack Meeting - Egg Drop Challenge! Returning and new Scout families are invited to join us to see which Scouts can protect their brave egg from a big fall. - Theme OBEDIENT
9/16 - Monthly pack hike - 10am, Huckleberry Trail, 7227 Skyline Blvd, Oakland. Gather at Huckleberry around 10 and start hiking around 10:15. No agenda, just come if you want to enjoy the outdoors!
9/29-10/1 - Fall Pack Campout! - We are bringing back a fall campout! This year we will go to Rancho Los Moches. Details sent via email.
9/30 - Range and Target Day - Archery, BB Gun and Slingshots.
OCTOBER
10/11 - Pack Meeting - Twilight Hike in Joaquin Miller + Campfire fun - Theme CLEAN
10/14 - Monthly pack hike - Special Eclipse Watching! - Meet at 8:30am at Sibley Staging Area. 75% eclipse to occur at ~9:20am. We will have safe viewing glasses available for Scouts that attend.Â
10/14-15 or 10/21-22 - Cub Camping Connection - This is a district organized campout for brand new Cub Scouts at all levels. Includes archery, BBguns, crafts, and a campfire program.
10/28-10/29 - Webeloree 2023 - Calling all Webelos and AOLs (4th and 5th graders)! Come to this event to have some more adventures and earn extra pins
NOVEMBER
11/8 - Pack Meeting - Bear Carnival and Toy Exchange - Theme CHEERFUL - Please bring toys to exchange!
11/10 and 11/11 - Annual Scouting for Food Drive & Collection
Friday 11/10 8:45am - Gather @ Joaquin Miller Elementary School. Scouts hang door hangers
Saturday 11/11 8:45am - Gather @ Joaquin Miller Elementary, and drop off food at Grocery Outlet on Broadway
DECEMBER
12/13 - Pack Meeting - Firefighter Visit and Toy Drive - Themes BRAVE and REVERENT
12/16 - Ice Skating and Toy Drive - Meet at 12:45pm at Oakland Ice Center. Skating 1-3pm.
JANUARY 2024
1/10 - Pack Meeting - Game Night! - Please bring a game you'd like to play with other Scouts! We will also be going over Pinewood Derby tips and details - Theme KIND
1/13 - Monthly pack hike - 10am, Round Loop Trail. Meet at Sibley Staging Area
1/23 and 1/24 - 6-8pm, Pinewood Derby Woodshop (Montera Middle School woodshop at 5555 Ascot Dr, Oakland. Enter the parking lot gate above the baseball field and park in the back left corner after driving through the gate.) - Optional opportunity to get large cuts made on your pinewood derby car using power tools and helpers.Â
1/31 - 6-8pm - Pinewood Derby Inspection and drop-off (5978 Rincon Dr., Oakland)- We will weigh and inspect the cars to make sure they are no more than 5 ounces and follow all other rules. Please bring your car in a small box so we can collect it.Â
FEBRUARY
2/2 - Pinewood Prep Night - Volunteers needed to set up the track! Contact Morgan.
2/3 - Pinewood Derby Race - Saturday 10am at KaiserAir (8735 Earhart Rd, Oakland, CA)
2/14 - Pack Meeting - Blue and Gold Banquet - Theme LOYAL - This will be a potluck dinner where we will share dishes with everyone. Please bring a main dish or appetizer to share.
2/24 - Pinewood Peralta Cup - Car Impound 9am, Races Start 10am- This is the "Pinewood Championship" featuring cars from all the local packs! $$
MARCH
3/13 - Pack Meeting - Service Animals, Disability Awareness, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion - We will have some four-legged furry visitors for this! - Theme FRIENDLY
3/16 - Monthly pack hike - 10am, Upper Bridgeview Trailhead, Monterey Blvd. - Bridgeview trail is very fun and filled with trolls! Come if you dare ;)
