Website and Registration

For starters, everything you'll need to know about Scouts (including an archive of these newsletters) can be found at  PLEASE bookmark it and check it if you have questions about the calendar, uniforming or other issues.

Also, everyone needs to be registered by the end of October.  For people already in the Pack, this just means paying the dues of $175 to on paypal or delivering a check to Pack Leaders at the Carnival Pack meeting on Wednesday the 24th.  For people new to Scouts, please also bring a filled-out copy of the application along with you as well.  You only have to fill out the first "Council" copy. (If you have signed up as a Den leader, you'll need to fill out an adult application, there is no extra fee for adults, we pay that as a Pack.)

October: Pack Meeting/Carnival at Sequoia Elementary

*Everyone* is going to be meeting at our Pack meeting on Wednesday the 24th this month at Sequoia Elementary where the Bears are going to be putting on our carnival.  Everyone should be there for all of the regular meeting time from 6:30-8pm.  The Bear leaders will be sending out another email with request for donated toys and food so please keep an eye out for that!

November: Food Drive and Pack Meeting

Our special activity in the month of November is a Food Drive.  There will be more announcements about that at the Pack meeting this month.  But mark your calendars for Saturday morning the 3rd and Saturday morning the 10th at 9am.  We'll be meeting in the Montclair Elementary Parking Lot and dividing up into dens to put out hangers asking for food and then to pick up the food the following Saturday.  The activity shouldn't take more than a couple of hours each Saturday but is extremely important for the people in need in our community.  Scouting for Food is the single biggest food collection for then Alameda County Food Bank every year.

November Pack meetings will again be split again into meetings at Joaquin Miller at Sequoia.

December: Ice Skating/Toy Drive, No Pack Meeting

In December we do an Ice Skating activity.  It'll be on Saturday the 8th at 5pm.  We'll provide more information.  Since the Pack meeting would fall squarely during the holidays, we have no Pack meeting in December.

Pinewood Derby starts in January.  We'll be providing much more information about that at the Pack meetings in November.

As always, please contact me and/or your den leaders or other pack leaders with any questions!

Yours in Scouting,
Cubmaster Micah
